2012 North Channel Cruise July 15-21, 2012 Preliminary Itinerary (subject to change due to weather) Saturday July 14, 2012 - Meet in Mackinac City for those who wish to travel as a group to Gore Bay, Ontario. Sunday July 15 - Gore Bay (approximately 112 miles from Mackinac City). Meet in Gore Bay as this will be the kick-off point for the cruise. Clear Canadian Customs and get to know the rest of the participants. Fuel and supplies are available in the town of Gore Bay. Monday and Tuesday July 16-17, 2012 - Benjamin and Fox Islands (approximately 23 miles from Gore Bay). Anchor out with the group enjoying the Benjamin and Fox Islands area. Plan on a few boats making a day trip to Kagawong to enjoy the Bridal Veil Falls. Wednesday and Thursday July 18 -19, 2012 - Travel to Little Current (approximately 18 miles from the Benjamin and Fix Islands) for supplies, fuel etc. After provisioning we are off to Baie Fine (approximately 20 miles from Little Current). Here we will enjoy MaryAnn Cove and Topaz Lake in a what is deemed Canada's Inland Fjord and one one of the most beautiful areas of the North Cannel. Friday July 20, 2012 - Travel to Killarney (approximately 16 miles from Baie Fine). Depending on how many boats in the group we stay at the Sportsmen Inn or the Killarney Mountain Lodge. Fuel and provisioning is available at each location. Saturday July 21, 2012 - Head for your home port or decide to become a North Channel resident. |
